Alright geezers.

Got an old laptop that i want to get rid of... how do i do it in an environmentally friendly way? Is there anywhere that i can take it?

Thanks in advance!

Is it one that could likely be data cleansed and then put to good use by anyone? If so I would be most happy to take it off your hands, and would ensure the data is destroyed.

If it's too old to be of use to wmr there are electrical recycling places. I think the tip have a electrical container which I would hope all goes to be recycled. I would suggest making sure it's been wiped of any data first if you intend to recylce it or introduce a hammer to the hard drive if your not sure how to wipe it properly.

They certainly do, I have disposed of a few electricals there. With it being a laptop hard drive i.e. being small, I would just remove and retain it, and then take the rest to the tip. That is, of course, if WMR has no use for it!

I'm after a laptop to save space. I'll probably be giving away my old computer and desk (because I'd rather it went to a good home than one that can pay) so won't have any money to buy one, but willing to pay a couple of tenners to wmrcomputers if it can be fixed up to my requirements. =)

Calling zakkwylde back to the thread - sounds like Lunar could be a contender

@Lunar - not sure if he's even been online since this thread began
