Do you have any faith in weather forecasters?

Do you have any faith in weather forecasters? I have just logged on to a long range forecast and it says the sun is going to shine on my caravan on Anglesey on Wednesday,Thursday, Friday and Saturday next week. It may be wishful thinking but I am keeping my eye on it. Who knows I may be building sand castles before long. :yay:

I camped in Benllech once. Weather was good for Wales although a wasp in my beer stung me on the lip.

I almost smiled then but I bet that was anything but funny.

Changeable Westerlies - forget long range forecasts, though they are getting better at working out what'll happen tomorrow.

In the last series of The Now Show, they did some amusing weather forecast rants which were very true - that weather forecasters spend half of the time telling you what the weather is now or what weather has happened, which isn't a forecast....

When I take over it will be compulsory for them to play a recording of their previous weather forecast for now, before they are allowed to predict what might happen in the future. I spend a lot of time outside and the 'popular' weather forecasts are generally irrelevant - something like a pseudo-scientific meteorological horoscope..

My lip swelled up mightily, leading children to stare and point at 'the funny man'. B*st*rds!

I am obliged for your advice Admin. Thank you.

As for the long range forecast, it keeps changing. All the sunshine that was predicted for next week seems to have turned to rain.

I have lost a complete month of ground rent for my caravan, ie April where it has rain at some time during each one of the 30 days.

It seems that I have to wait a little longer as I dont intend sitting in a soggy field

Well i don't know who else has been keeping an eye on it, but that wasn't too shabby at all.

How much of that was luck and how much judgement remains wide open to interpretation. I had assumed another Low was on the tail of last weeks Low, ever the pessimist. They never show us pressure charts anymore (do they?) - but it looks like a High sat at the last Low's edge.

I do hope Benllech had no 'wasp-in-beer' encounters.

On't telly they don't, unless it's an occasional massive great High that is easy enough to explain to even the most resistant to learning.

It's a bit annoying really, they used to 'open' with a pressure chart and then go on to 'interpret' it - that opening was usually enough to get a fix on what was coming so you could turn off before they started to annoy you. Now they expect you to sit there being annoyed for a full five minutes.

It doesn't sound a lot, but you try being annoyed for five whole minutes - it's not good for the constitution.

i notice we now have a local weather forecast on permanent display underneath the list of forums, funnily enough! perhaps we're better off not trusting it, though? lol
