Do you receive care at home in Gnosall?

Three times in the last week, we’ve had very narrow escapes at the mini roundabout in Gnosall.

We’ve been on the A518 from Newport, heading straight on, towards Gnosall ‘High Street’. Each time, a woman driving a small blue hatchback has shot out of Brookhouse Road, dashing onto the roundabout WITHOUT LOOKING RIGHT!

It’s happened twice when we’ve been in the car and this morning, on bicycles.

She’s wearing a pale blue uniform that’s sort-of-medical. I imagine someone living in that direction is receiving domiciliary care which she’s delivering, several times per day.

If that’s your family member or neighbour, please can you remind their carer to look right as she enters that (and any)roundabout?

She’s going to hurt someone soon and I don’t want it to be me!

You might want to rename this threat to "look out you blind twit in the sort of nursey uniform look where the fook you're going"

In my memory, this was a dark blue Corsa-type hatchback.

Well Done to the 'health-care professional' that just proved that you can enter the Junction 14 roundabout from the link road at a full 60 mph, as long as you use the entire width of the road and rely on the two cars coming out of Eccleshall Road legitimately to avoid the collision - that she would, no doubt, have regarded as 'their fault'.

Drumming up business? Or just unable to cope with numbers over 30?

There's a company who provides such care very close to there, just next to the Texaco garage I think, might be worth checking in with them.

It is possible, but the 'care system' is so fragmented that they could be from anywhere.

I know people who have calls in Stafford, Stone, Eccleshall, Gnosall and the Haywoods - they would make excellent rally drivers.

I did wonder about them but from what I can see on their website, they have dark blue uniforms. She’s got a dark blue car and a light blue uniform.

She must be making the same journey several times per day because otherwise I can only assume she’s lying in wait for us.

I know that the majority of care companies only pay their staff for the calls they make, not the travelling time. So I can understand that she’s in a hurry but it’s crazy to completely ignore such a basic rule to give way to traffic on your right on a roundabout.

She’s entering a roundabout at a junction with the A518. There is nearly always going to be something coming and she doesn’t even glance!

Gosh, I wonder if it’s the same woman?

Next time she nearly hits me I’ll get a look at the model of car. It's certainly a Corsa-type and she’s driving really fast.
Pale blonde, hair just off the shoulder and drawn into the semi-obligatory pony-tail, as I remember it.

Light blue nylon top.

Definitely no sideways glancing going on, as far as I could see.

I was observing from the passenger-side of the vehicle, though, and so will have had a rather poorer view of her than you will - and it was also at a fairly high speed.

The nurses at the surgery wear dark blue too, but I can't remember what the pharmacy uniform is; could be their delivery driver?

After several years of being a forum visitor, I decided to join to encourage you to discover who this person is! Last Thursday I was driving from Newport to Stafford and a mid/dark blue, metallic, smallish car went straight out infront of me from Brookhouse Way Gnosall to the High Street. Unfortunately, my car-cam footage had been overwritten by the time I read this thread. The driver was not looking at all and clearly does not "get mini-roundabouts"! They must be new to Gnosall or visiting from elsewhere. My time of travel was just about 1.15pm. Good luck!

Crikey, she’s obviously doing this every time!

When the inevitable crash takes place, I hope that the police and insurers find this thread. I also hope that it’s a car she eventually hits - in which the occupants at least have some measure of protection - not a motorcycle or bike.

The first time it happened I wondered about the surgery but she’s also done the dash at times when the surgery is definitely shut - when we encountered her on our bikes yesterday it was about 10.30am on a Sunday.

I had to do a 'hard stop' for what was almost certainly the same person again on Thursday. Then I had to stop for her again, seconds later, when she took advantage of that to just carry on out of the tee junction, not a million miles in front of a car coming the other way...

The initial stop very nearly caught out the driver behind me, too.

Doesn't "shot out of Brookhouse Road" and "She must be making the same journey several times per day" suggest that she's based in Gnosall Health Centre at the top of Brookhouse Way ?

That was my first thought but apparently they wear different coloured uniforms there.
