Getting back to this, with being part cripple when the knee goes, It's a bugger getting upstairs by going up on my bum, while carrying a pair of crutches. A downstairs loo would have been beautiful., and a damn sight quicker. That or we need a bungalow, no sheer drop stairs to contend with x
Glam,
Have you considered a commode ?

If this is going to be your "forever home" you might want to look into a downstairs loo/bathroom or even a lift or stairlift, it may seem extreme but mobility issues tend to get worse not better over time and trying to move either yourself or your partner can very quickly get to be too much.
Son was saying the same to us after my fall. Could look into converting part of garage or utility into a loo for future years.

Ade has 2 sets of crutches, his downstairs ones that he leaves at the foot of the stairs while getting up there and his upstairs that he picks up from the top of the stairs when he gets there. Before that it was carting them up and down and then he'd forget them and increasingly come close to being beaten to death with them after I'd have to go back down/up to collect them after he'd forget them with *my* bad knees. Luckily for him this danger has eased off now....

Does anyone know of a bookbinder in the area? A couple of of my old books are a little worse for wear and could do with rebinding.

His father Reg was my boss long ago.
Have you ever used the Bookbinders Arms in Jericho ? I've not been in since it was a Morrells pub last century. John Thaw's also been in.

Thanks, have to have a look at them. Proper bookbinding isn't cheap and I seem to have a dire effect om bookbinders, i get a couple of books bound then they retire.
I assume the Jericho in Oxford, so no, haven't done much drinking in Oxford at all.

Peter might be nearly my age so ready for you to edge into retirement.
Yes Oxford, though I understand there's also one in Palestine which would be too far for me.

Of some good quality metal cutting blades. Starlock fitting to suit a DeWalt multi tool.
Used a DeWalt blade earlier today and managed to cut six approx 4 mm bolts before being worn out.

The bigger tyres will mean your speedo will read lower than actual speed. As it’s only the profile & not the tyre/wheel diameter it won’t make a massive difference but something to be aware of, measure the circumference of the tyres to get the percentage difference. Assuming they’re both the same models they’ll both actually fit ok. Obviously fit all 4.
P. S. If you’re actually scrapping the car try advertising it on Facebook etc as “spares or repair”. The used to be a lucrative market for those type of vehicles a couple years ago although I haven’t been involved for a couple years. Worth a look at least.

Another P. S. I’ve just seen your post about the Leaf. The bigger tyres may not fit but the transmission etc will be set up for the original tyres so probably best not to bother.
