As said by others, the sites on the Redhill site are established without large equipment facilities and don't have access either. St Gobain are abrasives so they don't do anything big, either. The only large equipment in the town is in the original Lichfield Road Transformer factory. I made my way back into the industry and some of the Transformers I see are from places like Hungary and Turkey so it's the price that dictates, these days.

I hear the factory is still busy and have loads of work as customers only want made in Britain.
There still plenty of lorries turning up delivering parts from what I can see.

The piling that went on for the factory was a bit entertaining, quite a few piles didn't stop and were banged down a bit further by putting another pile in after them.

There were loads of air raid shelters under the middle of the grounds years ago when I was working over there.

If those of us living round here - myself, @gilbert grape , @Andreas Rex and anyone else I may have missed, if we can put up with hearing and feeling every single pile that went in the new road, then those that live round there can do the same with the new houses.

Also remember when they were building the Cresswell overpass for the M6 (I was still at school) they were driving piles in for weeks on an end to end basis. Now apparently there is a strange Stonehenge type circle that emerged from the ground in the New Zealand mountains at about the same time. :P:P
