Examples of poor driving you have witnessed!

Had to do an emergency stop due to some plonker in a clapped out silver Citroen cutting me up, yet again, at "the" junction across from the cinema. He pulled off then decided to totally cut across my lane forcing me to come to a complete stop or I would have gone straight into the side of him. The best part was he didn't even decide to use my lane, he went back over to the right towards Alstom... I swear, some people need to learn lane discipline the amount of idiots that CANT keep between the lines is infuriating.

People need to learn how to driver better or that junction needs sorting out.

It takes a lot to make me cross but some numpty-head tailed me all the way to Newport tonight, on full beam. To make matters worse, his headlights weren't adjusted properly. And he stuck right behind me, like glue. My rear view and wing mirrors were rendered useless - just blinding slabs of light. One interesting phenomenon though, his lights were so bright that I was following my own shadow. As I motored along, huge monochrome Defenders danced ahead of me, flitting between the hedgerows to either side of the road. So he was still a w***** but that was pretty.

Driving a courtesy car at the moment due to having my other car written off and was nealry taken out twice at the same junction yesterday! Four crosses - people just dont know what "give way to the right" means!
Two muppets at different times of day coming from Gaol Road looked at me "not signalling to go left" and pulled straight out in front of me and one even waved to say sorry as I nearly took his back end out!

Whilst they're at it, a few cameras catching people who stop in the middle of box junctions wouldn't go amiss. I'm sure that congestion in Stafford could be eased if people didn't insist on driving into box junctions when their exist wasn't clear, thus blocking the road for everyone...

They often drive into and block box junctions after going through a red light!! (This happens quite a bit on Lichfield Road gyratory for one).

I find driving as close as one can get to said moron and slamming my horn on full for a few secs usually embarrasses them enough for my point to be made; combine with a few offensive hand signals and said moron usuallyrealise that they should not block the box. Having said that.................

Beware of sounding your horn 'aggresively' or when stationary.
Highway Code said:
The horn. Use only while your vehicle is moving and you need to warn other road users of your presence. Never sound your horn aggressively. You MUST NOT use your horn
  • while stationary on the road
  • when driving in a built-up area between the hours of 11.30 pm and 7.00 am
except when another road user poses a danger.

Keep moving, however slowly, and sound your horn in an 'advisory' manner....

That means you have just driven into the box junction without the exit being clear so are as guilty as the moron in front!

Last time I was going home that way when there had been an accident somewhere I had people getting very annoyed behind me because I wouldn't drive into that box and block traffic. The car directly behind me actually went round me to cut in on the next bend.

Even assuming that you don't actually mean you entered the box junction and are therefore guilty of the same offence; driving right up to someone's bumper with your horn blaring at best makes you guilty of tailgating and at worst could, depending on the size and mood of the person in front, result in you paying an unwelcome visit to A&E.

If they do something stupid that you feel strongly about then report them to the police, no sense in taking the law into your own hands.

maybe I didn't word it quite correctly. I would, of course, never go in to a box without the exit being clear. My honking and gesticulations usually occur when i'm trying to get past the moron who has got stuck in the box with me trying to get to one of the exits they haven't managed to block. For example, when coming along Queensway with St Georges on the left towards Asda. Often I find that a moron has ended up in the box as they try to go up Lammascote rd towards the leisure centre. By being in the middle Lane - attempting to get to Asda, my exit is clear - or would be if I didn't have to navigate round the moron who has stopped in the box trying to get to Weston road. I usually find that I can get round them and off on my journey, but they are still in the worng for stopping in the box in the first place. if they hadn't stopped in the box, my exit towards Asda would be clear, hence I wouldn't be blocking anyone in. Hope that makes sense!!!!

You can enter the box when your exit is blocked - if you are turning right and your exit is blocked by oncoming traffic. Such as when heading out of town on Lichfield Road and trying to turn into Pizza Hut/KFC, but oncoming traffic is preventing your exit.

A bit puzzled as to why this thread was changed to something based on driving, when my initial point was about a pedestrian.....or was it 'cos of the way its developed?

That's the way evolution works. I did attempt to steer it in the right direction, but my exit was blocked.

Another classic happened the other day going up Radford Bank. Guy in-front of me thought it'd be really cleaver to just suddenly stop and pull up on the curb with out indicating to warn me. Then he decides to pull back out as I'm going around him then goes left at the roundabout and suddenly brakes again when there's no cars on the right hand side... Then he decides sits there for about 2 minuets with no traffic coming. So I pap my horn to nudge him on only to have him stall his car... Felt that vain in my head popping up slowly lol
