Examples of poor driving you have witnessed!

I mean really the young rough males, that drive around recklessly, chavs etc
There are plenty of reckless drivers in expensive cars. Most of them don't pay for their own car anyway - lots are company provided, and not unlikely some are paid for by criminal activity.

Audi hate? Audi's are the best carz! especially Q3, Q5 and Q7, will rarely if ever be driven by idiots, cos idiots don't have enough money!
On what level are Audi the best cars? I agree they look good in the showroom, but dynamically they are decidedly average and their reliability is as poor as the rest of modern VW group motors at the moment. Because many of them come specced-up with bigger wheels and tyres they ride truly badly on the sort of roads we have round here.

As a means of munching big mileage on the motorway they are ok though but generally, give me a BMW, Mercedes, or a Jaguar any day over a cockring.

I haven't yet seen a Q7 that wasn't driven by a complete nob-end.

Same with Range Rover Sports.

People with money are no more or less nobs than anyone else...

I don't think mercedes are much better really, they start with a great chassis and then seem to do everything they can to make it boring (read: safe). I quite like my audi, it's extremely refined, very quiet inside and very well put together. The ride is good, I like stiff suspension and could happily accept another 1 or 2 kg/mm stiffer springs.

Unfortunately the chassis design isn't for fun, it's geared to understeer and the computer (which you cannot turn off) won't allow confident lift off oversteer. Having the engine, gearbox and differential all over the front axle makes for a car which is difficult to turn it when travelling at speed.

The engine is by far the best diesel I have ever driven (including the current jag xf 3.0) but it's still distinctly diesel and fills you with a sense of disappointment every time you touch the throttle. lag...minor boost....dimishing power....change gear....rinse and repeat.

I do agree with you - give me a bmw any day. The audi, however, is a very nice car and suits me for the 3-4k miles a month I am currently covering.

I
Overloaded shopping trolley drivers in supermarkets who have no regard for life or limb of others. You would think shops are going to close for a month?
I think as Winterval Day approaches, people are getting more and more impolite/idiotic both in shops and on the roads. It seems to be numpty silly season at the moment.

Taxis. Now that's a subject on its own. There are a number of taxis drivers that are reluctant to use indicators. Equally a lot of taxis push in on Chell Road from the A34 roundabout. I know time is money but an orderly sense of queuing would help.

as you can see which ever way you approach chell road from this roundabout there are 2 lanes and the signage instructs you to use both lanes

In my experience., I would say that it's pretty even across all types of driver, regardless of job (or not). Over a two week period, I have experienced around a dozen cars not indicating to turn right into Earl Street from Broadeye. This is between 8:30am to 9am in the morning. Now I know you score extra for students, but somebody's got to spoon-feed me my meals, later rather than sooner.

Driving down Queensway today, very busy. I got to the Riverway junction and waited for the box junction to become clear, then as I'm waiting the driver behind me started tooting his horn at me and flashing his lights. At the next box junction he did the same. Not only that but he left his lights on full beam. When he finally turned them off and I could get a look at his vehicle it was actually a taxi, is it too much to expect people who have chosen driving as a career know how a box junction works?

Unfortunately the bar is pretty low for taxi driving, especially when you compare what a PSV driver has to do to get a licence- hence the number of numpties driving taxis. There are some good taxi drivers and some good firms, but as an industry it has a long way to go in terms of standards. It would be a start if drivers were subject to drivers hours regulation.

Coming back from The Royal Orthopeadic in B'ham yesterday several drivers seemed hell bent on trying to kill us coming through Selly Oak. Lots of swerving and just plain randomly stopping dead in the middle of the road. Certainly kept my poor Dad on his toes. Must have aged him about 10 years though. Fools! You can tell it's the silly season, I don't drive but even I know better than that.

Just passed a police spot check, won't say where because if you are drink driving I'd rather see you banned for a while.

If we had a choice I'd see them beaten senseless at the roadside before their car was crushed with them in it, but in reality we know they'll be unlikely to get anything worse than a years ban :(

Guy I work with got caught for a second time and got three years off. He'll have his licence back in March, so watch out!

Should be a mandatory 6 months minimum for a second offence, as it just proves you're a dick. After getting caught once you think you'd be careful!

Do you mean six years? The mandatory term is already 12 months for first and 36 months for second offences.
