Since leaving work and rarely seeing another adult apart from other half I have found I spend far too much time on fb. I feel like I have a social life without having to go anywhere. It eases the loneliness and kept me in touch with people when I've not been well enough to go out. I even dabble with Twitter but really don't know what I'm doing on there.

I cannot understand why anyone would want to put all their private business and photos on fb for everyone to look at. For me, other people's holiday snaps take some beating on the boring scale. If you've seen one bunch of grinning idiots sitting under a sunshade holding up their glasses, surely that's enough. In fact, I should have included that in my phobia thread.

Twitter makes no sense to me. Apparently it was overrun by Coronation Street fans last week complaining about Ken Barlow's sexual encounter with his new bird. Well, Dreary has been dead a while now ... and he is 83!

Face book makes me happy. Post about as much dribble on there as here.. In fact more, it's full of inane photos and boring tripe. Love it! If others don't share the love that's fine, scroll away.

I've never had a facebook account (when I want to look at what Diego the cat has been up to, where I have to log in to look at it, I use hubbys account , but don't actually post anything on it .. ).

I do have my daily quick look at 'CurrentSpotted' to see what has been going on in town. Mostly completely idiotic comments, but also a useful way of finding out what's going on out there. And always look for lost/found pets on various facebook sites. Other than that I have absolutely no use for it at all.

Never been on twitter....

I think that this is the saddest thing that I have read on here all week.

@peggy

Are you happy about not going anywhere and not meeting people or would you like things to be different?
Does the illness that you had and the recovery from it prevent you from going out?

Before my op, it very much prevented me from going out. Now less so but most friends work so daytime is when I feel it most. I'm happy though. I think the new year will bring more opportunity to get out as I get fitter. I do go out sometimes I probably just need to make more effort.
