I heard about fireworks up on the Common, with a fun fair!!!
But I'm looking for quality. And the only time I hope to vomit, is from an under cooked Pork bap I intend to purchase.

Forget the rest.....this will undoubtedly be the BEST! I was almost certainly going to the Rugby Club for the fireworks on Saturday, but i've just received an email forwarded to me by Tommy T with details of a display that none of us should miss. One of TT's ex-colleagues knows a guy aptly known as Pyro Jon. This name could have been given to him due a spate of adolescent arson attacks, but it's actually because this guy  ballistics, and wants to put on a show which makes others pale into insignificance. So much so, in fact, that he travelled to CHINA earlier this year to hand-pick the buggers!

When? Saturday, 4th November, from about 7pm.

Where? Project Paintball, Wolverhampton Rd (A449).

Come out of Stafford heading south. At the Motorway junction, continue on the A449 heading towards Penkridge. After about a mile and a half you will spot a largish layby on the right hand side.
Just after the layby there is a turning onto a farm track, with a "Project Paintball" sign. Take this turning and go down it for 200 yards. Park up - you're there!

Who? The more, the merrier! Bring your friends!

How much? Completely free. There will be a whip round for charity.

Food and drink? Bring your own. Bring loads!

Need i say more??

There's a bus you can get, but i despise public transport. I reckon most people will want to have a few ales. If there are quote a lot of us, we could always get taxis.

Think i may just stay in the confines of Castletown to be honest. Attend the Rugby club and then shower the skies of Quadrantonia with the 'few' barrages i have purchased!

Thing is, you can do that at any old time. This won't just be a huge display organised by someone who has put loads of planning into it, but it's also a social occassion. I know this may hurt BBC, but sometimes you have to move further afield..

The common is on the Stone Road, on the RHS as you head out of town. Miss T - I know that the fun fair won't be offering the finest nouvelle cuisine, but I haven't been to a proper English pikey fair for over a decade, so I really fancy catching up (then throwing up).

"Scream if you wanna go faster!"

Jon the Hat, (as Pyro Jon is otherwise known) is an old mate of mine from way back, and he really has got a lot of fireworks (I am not planning on buying a house near his). It will be a top show!

So how about this for a plan -

Up to Jon's display, then off to the fair, then back to Castletownia for the rest of the night? I don't mind driving (as long as I get my car fixed in time....)

We can always do something else afterwards...can't see it going on all that late if there's no bar etc...

You can count me in... shame there's no fair tho. Do you remember that mad, fast ride at rugby club last year Andreas? I had bruises for about a month afterwards!

I remember that and i think pods does too as i was sat next to him on it with my full weight crashing into him every six seconds!

I'm up for going to the paintball fireworks if they are on early.Does anyone know these and the rugby club fireworks on?

I saw Barry at lunch and he says he goes up to the castle (with a bottle of scotch!) on fireworks night as you get to see the town's displays in all their glories. I bet that is enough to stir the emotions so i may even venture up there!

Assuming this means what time are they on, i think both are 7pm. You said yourself that the rugby club last year was quantity as opposed to quality...this will be both!!
