Flu jab.

Hubby received a text telling him to make an appointment with the GP surgery for his flu Jab, as with his heart condition it's important he has one.

He rang them..

" Sorry, we have no vaccine available"
Does he have the top-grade A+ blood? If so, I could give him a small transfusion of my fresh stuff.

What you get seems to be primarily determined by age - https://www.england.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/flu-programme-delivery-guidance-2018-19.pdf .

What they get may be determined by market forces...
Better make sure hubby is going to be getting the correct one then, as he's now having it done with the works nurse ...

Last year he had the flu Jab at our GP surgery. I had a text from GP saying to make an appt but receptionist reckoned I wasn't eligible (hating needles I didn't protest too much).
Hubby went on to have a mild form of the flu....I caught it off him and was really ill. So dreading him having this year's jab!

The bloke in Asda is the best jabber that I've ever come across - two out of two barely noticeable.

I had the flu jab again a few months ago, but mustn't have included the strains of all the things I seem to be picking up !

Sons (ex ) Japanese girlfriend left some of those face mask things here , that are quite common to wear normally over in Japan, when she visited a few years ago. Might don one of those ....... (I was saving them for if I ever went fancy dress as a surgeon :D )

Just to be clear, the flu jab is not live so you cannot be affected adversely by it.

It is a vaccine of 4 strains of different flu

The flu virus is currently increasing

The flu virus is not Chinese

The flu virus kills the old and already unwell by infection. We all are able to accidentally infect someone unintentionally

Over-65s may get a trivalent jab, although a quadrivalent one may also be used.

the flu jab is not live so

The trivalent vaccine for over-65s is a live attenuated vaccine. If you are over 65 you can opt for the ordinary quadrivalent vaccine. And many flu strains do originate in China.

Ancient people's flu jabs being cancelled

No Bulgarian lorry drivers here anymore
Hubby had his under 65's last week at our local pharmacy. They haven't received the 65 and over yet. I'm booked in at Boots for the end of the month. Pharmacist there said they already had 65+ in their warehouse, but not arrived in store yet.
Hoping my appointment isn't cancelled now.
