We've been to this for the last few years and when the weather's good it's a great place to be. They have live music going on too. There are busses from Stafford so you can have a skinful and still get home safe.

It's the Staffs Wildlife trust Food and Beer festival. They put up[ some marquees - one of which they fill will stalls about and with local food and the other they fill with BEER. You pay £2 and get a half pint mug and some voulchers for beer and you then spend the rest of the day and evening filling the glass with lovely real ale and sitting out in their lovely grounds watching people getting steadily more drunk while various local musicians do their thing.

Aye tis great fun ..especially if the weather holds out. My beloved is correct there are regular(ish) buses to and from the place . Originally we would cycle there , get there about just after lunch time and abit ( this varies depending on the excesses of the previous night !) park up the bikes find a nice mound ( no jokes plse!) and get hammered royal style for the rest of the day/evenin . This of course had major disadvantages .. trying to pedal a bike home after a skinfull of old elbow, tommyknocker, sweaty sock etc type brews proved more than difficult .. and of course the age catches up on you ..so now we take the bus very straightforward and only got to walk from town home ..which is ok .. Must point out it isnt only beer theres food as well from local producers and there was a couple of fast food vans there doing jamaican jerky type foods ..( again no laffin!) .All in all a nice way to spend a Saturday and the weather looks good too unlike last weekends washout ..

The bus you need to get, seeing as Scutlingb(usdriver) didn't let on is the 825 from outside the Sun in Lichfield Road. It leaves at 3 mins and 33 mins past the hour and takes about 25 minutes to get there.

And if that's not so don't blame me blame http://www.transportdirect.info

I only found out which bus takes you there today!

The last bus back is 11.30pm as well, so no excuses, just stay ALL day :pint:

Very much looking forward to a good Shropshire Lad, in the country, in the summer.
