Was at The Porter and Sorter, just by East Croydon Station last night and had the pleasure of a Falafel Burger!! Never had one before, tasted very nice. If you're ever in the vicinity check it out, beer was Marstons EPA which I believe will be available at The Crown, Hyde Lea very soon, or even could be right now.
EPA already gone! (wasn't me guv'nor) Doom Bar on at the mo.

Got some sweet peppers stuffed with cheese from that guy in the market who has short dated food (near the wilkos entrance, turn right and he's the first in the 'food' area). Gonna stuff them into some chicken and, erm, wrap them in bacon! My food tastes are scarily predictable :D

Still full from last nights haggis, spring onion mash, potato fritters and fried button mushrooms in cream cheese and black pepper, nom nom nom :D

Anyway, on a food related note, has anyone tried the M&S cooking / pour over sauces? I noticed yesterday when buying my haggis that they were all half price (89p IIRC), and some looked rather yummy. I've been told the curry ones are good but I've got enough curry sauces, I'm more interested in ones like the bramley apple, cream and cider or the redcurrant and rosemary. They also do an amole chilli I may have to try.

So, anyone tried them? Any thoughts?

Where exactly is Hindell's Butchers?

Chambers sausages are bought there and Mrs Dogg loves 'em. We asked the Chef and were told on Weston Road. I can't for the life of me think where and they aren't listed on yell.com.

She also likes the products from Mottershead up on Bodmin Ave. Helpful staff are always a bonus too!

You most definitely can mention it! Businesses signing-up to The Forum specifically just to advertise is considered spam and poor form, but Forumites recommending places to one another is positively encouraged. Especially nice little family businesses like the one you mention. :)

Excellent butchers. Pricey, but well worth it IMO.

'Weston Road butchers' may refer to Tomlinson's, on St Thomas's Street.
The names must have got mixed up. I thought this one was the only Weston Road-ish one and must be it.

I've just looked at the note that the chef wrote and it says "Hopkinsons Butcher, Weston Road. Nr Met bar" must be Tomlinsons then, hence I can't find on Yell?

The bangers are Gloucestershire Old Spot if that rings any bells with anyone, or does just about everyone use these pigs for posh snags now?

Just to say we tried the apple one last night, it was great. So great in fact that I went in and purchased a dozen random sauces from their range this lunchtime! They are only half price til the weekend, so thought I'd stock up.

Did a lovely spag Bol last night but for the first time ever chucked some bacon in there too, went down a storm with the kids. Recently did a creamy garlic mushroom pasta dish, stuck cheese on the top and let it melt before mixing it all in....soooooo bad but soooo good! Yet to get around to the steak and ale pie mind!

Not a what I've eaten, but what I am about to try. Does this sound worth a go?

I have some large flat shrooms and some sausages to cook tonight, was gonna do sausages in gravy with chips but the shrooms I've just decided may go rather well stuffed with haggis, thoughts? Also debating a very small amount of cheese to bind it but really not sure on that bit yet!

Also need to freeze around 6lb of haggis....

Well that worked! Although TBH despite the mushroom being great it was completely overshadowed by the M&S Porn Sauce, that shit rocks. I had the cunningly labelled 'Caramalised Onion Pour Over Sauce (Made In Great Britain)' and it was fookin amazing, best thing I've eaten in days* and even my bro described the meal as special (we had it with venison and red wine sausages, and pork with red wine and fennel sausages).

I sound like a walking advert, but M&S Porn Sauces are great :D

* I recently had their apple creamy sauce, which also rocked :slayer:
