This unfortunate looking heap of repairs represents just a small portion of the laptops we're currently hoarding because we're low on money. It's all petty stuff, hard drives and batteries, simple fixes but a cost we can't escape.
Our sponsors do a grand job of paying our biggest expenses and a huge chunk of that is our parts costs. You're seeing the results for yourselves right here, but we're capable of so much more if we could only afford it.
We're super grateful to everyone who donates, but it isn't infinite cash.

Do you remember our first 3?

Exactly 4 years ago today we had just prepared our first ever gadgets after forming independently as Free I.T.

Some of you may already know, our project has actually been in existence since 2014, funded and hosted unbranded, by what was the Signpost Centre at Highfields. When funding fell short and the centre closed in late 2020, we didn't simply stop at that

Without even counting the people we'd already helped by that point, we're now at 1,703

This is how we're spending your donations.
These e-waste Fujitsu Lifebook laptops need new batteries and storage drives.
With your help, we've been able to spend £22 on each one to restore them to factory condition
Not a bad punt, we reckon.
That's 4 more lives we (you) are about to completely change, each one just the sacrifice of a take-away, thanks to all of you who pledged after our appeal last weekend

We've been spending your money again...
This time you allowed us to equip 30 PC's with wi-fi capability

Many of the PC's we're given don't actually have this feature built in, unlike a laptop or tablet, and these were a bargain so we took the opportunity to future-proof.
