It's been a pleasure helping out Spark Childrens' Centre in Burntwood today, and there's more to do yet :)

Huge thanks to Starfish Health & Wellbeing for this. We provided a bunch of kit to help their isolated clients get online at home to access remote support and counselling, and for jobseeking and creating important documents, and we've received this lovely photo of one of their clients, Beatrice, receiving her flashy new laptop

Thank you to whoever donated this very pink HP netbook, we've fixed it up with some new parts and it's now started its new life tackling the digital divide, and thank you to everyone who's donated kit to allow us to help many many others

A massive thanks due, to Paul and the team at The Calibration Centre, for looking after our electrical test equipment today, giving us a fresh 12 months MOT and peace of mind that all the equipment we give away is electrically safe :)

We're always short of USB mains adapters to send out with tablet PC's.
If you have a spare in a drawer please consider dropping it into one of our collection points

More amazing news from Starfish Health & Wellbeing this morning
1f642.png

They have repurposed some more of the equipment we donated to them, and now another one of their clients is up and running online!
This is Lee, who is part of the Wolverhampton Social Hub. Has been digitally and socially isolated and now has access to a laptop donated by one of you lovely people and fixed up for free by our team of tech guys, and he is ready to join some online zoom sessions

A little insight into what goes on behind the scenes.
These are our "allocations" spreadsheets and they show exactly where all of our refurbished devices have gone to.
We've had to redact a couple of entries who didn't want to be publicised, but these are our official numbers to date... almost 250!
And yes, there's been a few meetings going on away from the radar with Bloxwich 196 Air Cadets, and we'll tell you all about that very soon!

We popped in to Staffordshire baby bank today, to drop off an all-in-one desktop PC which was donated by one of you lovely people, fixed up by our team of tech guys for free, and will now start its new life propelling the team there along in their administration work

A massive thanks to the lovely donor who gifted this Zoostorm Intel i5 tower system a few weeks ago, we've added some extra peripherals and given it a comprehensive check over and a secure wipe.
Here it is taking pride of place, now in the hands of 12th Mohawk scout group at Berkswich :)

Do you work for an electrical supplier, or know somebody who does?
We're looking for a local company who will bung us some parts for an upcoming free installation in a very popular local community venue, in return we'll set the internet browsers on our next 10 PC's to open at their company page by default, and give them masses of facebook fame when we unveil the installation.
Mostly networking stuff, a drum of cat6, keystones, trunking, that sort of thing.
Please, let us know

Will you help us buy some parts?
We've a few laptops needing replacement keyboards and batteries, and not very much cash left. With a rough average cost of each of those items being £20, if we can ask 10 of you to donate just £2 each we'll provide the repair skills for free and place another device into the hands of somebody who desperately needs it

Thank you all

Sent. And changed the method to Friend or Family. That way there's no fee payable xx
