POLITE NOTICE TO POUNDSTRETCHER, TKMAXX & LAURA ASHLEY CUSTOMERS
As from tomorrow 7/08/2019 the Friary retail car park will be managed by UKCPS. It will be controlled by automatic number plate recognition cameras and patrolling wardens. The 2 hour free parking remains in place providing you are shopping in the above stores. You will not be permitted to park your car and leave the site, park in the restricted staff parking areas, overstay the maximum 2 hours or park overnight, all of which will result in a fine. Thank you for your continued support.

If you leave the site on foot it will cost you £90?. So if a piece of litter blows out your car and escapes the confines of the carpark, it's cheaper to leave it and pay a £75 fine for littering than risk picking it up and getting a fine for leaving incorrectly.
When did walking off a carpark become a more serious offence than littering.
It maybe safer not shopping at those stores and going to more car friendly stores like b&m and Wilko's who don't employ such aggressive finding strategy.

The shops on there are shops I've always avoided like the plague. Nothing about the new parking regulations encourages me to review my decision.

I may not have been in there, even on foot, this decade.

It's also a very awkward place to emerge from, unless you feel the urge to brave Newport Road.

Mostly because there’s 0 delay between the two incoming sets of traffic lights. The moment one is red the other is green.

Has anyone ever found these to actually work? “For customers of ____ only” basically never works, and is easy to get around by simply walking in the store, no?

And correct me if I’m wrong, but the carpark doesn’t strike me as one that has parking issues. So this is probably just a way to earn some cash for the owners of the site?

With the average Staffordian's understanding of the way traffic lights work, there is often considerable overlap between cars proceeding, regardless of where they have gone from.

Kicking myself for parking here leaving one member of the family in tk maxx whilst picking up a prescription. They've decided the driver left the site. Knocked me sick getting that this morning. 😡:grr:

Might be worth having a look at http://www.pepipoo.com/ where there is plenty of advice on how to deal with these "rogue" parking companies. If you go onto the forums there, you'll find out your by no means the first person they have attempted to rip off with these tickets.

Remember you will have received the demand for payment as the registered keeper of the vehicle. They will not have identified the driver of the vehicle unless you tell them and rule number one on the Pepipoo site is don't tell them).

If you want to avoid paying, you'll probably need to get photos of the signage, as incorrect signage can achieve a quick win. And if the signage does say the driver is not allowed to leave the site, does it define what the site is?

I’d be asking to see their proof of the driver leaving the site and where it stipulates in the parking conditions that the driver isn’t allowed to leave the car park for any reason
