There's a list of live music at The Swan HERE. I'm not overly keen on The Swan (sorry Sponge Marketing ), but only cos of the prices and the suity-fruity cleintele....I really like the garden area and the aspects of the surrounding buildings. For the last 2 summers that's pretty much where we've gone every Friday for after work drinks, and stayed for the music too. It's really good when the weather holds out, it's busy and you've got that Friday feeling. Gonna go on Friday 20th to see me 'ole mates Cornerberry and Matt with The Cartoon Kings. :bananarock:

A mate of mine has booked Hipster to play at his impending wedding. I saw them last year and thought they were quite a good all round tight band - they played something for everybody. Unfortunately I can't make this Friday as I'm off to the unofficial beer festival at The Wellington in Birmingham. Have fun folks.

What time does it start tonight?
I think last year it usually kicked off at about 8.30/9, but if you wanted it a seat it was advisable to get there much earlier.

Cool, will head down about half 8. Brolly shouldn't be a problem, I only live in Friars Terrace and there's several pubs to hide in on the way :D

But when you're outside watching the music? They have tables with brollies in them, but the rest is totally uncovered...

Right, seems like its 8pm onwards according to the pdf on their website (http://www.theswanstafford.co.uk/documents/swanlive2007.pdf). Will head down about then. Weather is looking great! (http://uk.weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/ST17)

I've not often used Stafford's Swan - unlike the Swans in Stone and at Whiston - but haven't noticed much change with it passing from the Lewis Partnership to +-the Coaching Inn Group

We've had friends staying there both before and after the change and they haven't noticed much other than perhaps the staff are a little friendlier.

We would eat there more often, but the menu has become a little restricted since the take over. Still very nice though.

Changed hands again now, I believe.

I was in the Swan for a few hours in March 2019 for a reunion with friends from London, Wolverhampton and Liverpool and it worked well because one of them prefers coffee to beer - but 'it takes all sorts' is what I always say.

Any idea what kind of reputation they have, quality wise?

Early days yet, the company was only set up in January and they purchased their first group of pubs in March. Now up to about 100 pubs. Anand actually has 5 RedCat companies set up this year which have pubs & hotels as their main business, as far as I know only RedCat Pub Company Ltd is active.
