A short interrogation took place today, after a gigantic skip was delivered.

Apparently, the place is 'well rough' inside, especially the older part. What I saw was not flattering - we are definitely still in the "breaking eggs" stage, a long way from starting on the omelette.

The perceived intention is for it to become a bar/restaurant facility.

But, it is a long way off.

Easier and quicker to rip out and/or cover.
Much easier and much quicker to flatten and build.

See you on opening night.

While it is lovely to think that the building might have a new lease of life, my other half informs me that there is no planning permission in place at the building, and no new planning applications submitted according to the borough website. An application will be complex as the older front half of the building is now listed, the planning process will be detailed. The internal and external features are both protected by the listing. The Express and Star article a while back seems a little premature and a bit inaccurate. Good luck to any future developer though, it is a beautiful building that deserves to be used for something.

It is my understanding that the building remains in the same ownership as it did when the Council first disposed of it.

We shall see....
