Fuel Wankers.

He was the passenger, got 2 green plastic petrol containers out the boot and filled them up. He looked ashamed of himself when he saw me watching him.
You never know, he may have run out fuel and got his mate to run him to the garage.

Got a hospital appointment this morning in Stoke, luckily I filled up the day before everyone decided there was a shortage so things were no different that they have been for years. What a difference a day makes, who'd have thought all those thousands of truck drivers would have decided to leave on the same ferry!

Had cto do that myself in my younger days ( just the one can tjough) when my 'adapted" little mini I'd bought ( unknowingly at the time) only had a tiny tank.
In those days the garages were used to it and had a supply of old petrol containers to fill

Someone on one site was moaning about the cars in front of them only putting £10 & £20 worth in when it was a £30 limit. So were assuming they had almost full tanks & just topping up. Maybe the £10 or £20 was all they could afford , or just putting that much in to get them by , thinking of leaving some for others!

Don't think I'd only fill half the tank or less through choice. if you only put enough fuel for a couple of days. The more frequently you need to fill the longer the queues will be. Just fill once when you need to then keep away.

It seems the new santicmony is posting on F/B about how little fuel you have but are not filling up so "it can go to those who need it more"

Hoping it's all blown over by a few weeks time when I've booked our car for it's MOT & service. To get to the garage part I have to drive through the forecourt entrance . Don't fancy queuing for miles in a fuel queue just to drop it off .

Unless an oil refinery supply 1/6 of the UK supply goes bust over a vat bill and stops production. I can't see the temporary forecourt shortages lasting beyond the week. As said above once a tank is full its full until burnt. Demand will soon plummet and forecourts will catch up.

Gas supplies still seem OK and the conversion is quite an easy DIY project.

The Shell filling station on Eccleshall Road had petrol & diesel earlier. Bit of a queue to get in but not too bad (you are definitely better coming from the town side rather than Eccleshall due to the way the forecourt is configured). It is meant to be a £30 limit unless you are from the emergency services or a key worker. However, the pumps do not shut-off at £30 so this is being left to the common sense/decency of the individual!.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Tesco filling station open as of about half an hour ago. Not much in the way of queuing I could see as I drove up the Newport Road.

If anyone needs diesel, and doesn't mind the drive. Croxton garage have just had a delivery. Petrol will be available tomorrow.
