Famous scene near the end of the British WW2 movie 'Ice Cold in Alex.' This was later used as a TV ad for Carlsberg I've shown here. Harry Andrews (tough looking sergeant at the end) later observed: "I got paid more money for the ad than I did for the film."

There's another story goes with this scene: John Mills had to drink the glass in one go and say the line: "Worth waiting for," which was to be one take. They found they had to use real lager because no substitute looked right. After several takes which failed because Mr Mills kept fluffing that one line, as he got more and more under the influence. They made a shot change at the end as he slams the glass down so he could say the line sober in another take.

Now John Mills was a thoroughly professional actor, so you can't help but think he knew exactly what he was doing .. :heyhey:

Nice one John … :pint:

Interestingly one of the necessities when proposing an explanation for the 'Fermi Paradox' is the idea that a world with a large Moon in proportion to itself would be required if life to was develop to an advanced stage.
The thinking is that the probability of such 'double planets' is low, therefore advanced life would be rare.

Did my good deed for the month getting a new fence panel for the neighbour and installing it this afternoon after one of hers blew down overnight.

Nearly trashed a few cars in the Hough car park trying to carry it back to the Crossings estate in the wind but got there in one piece!!

I'm just going upstairs, I may be some time.

i.e., in the unlikely event of me getting all the way, I will be there until I starve to death.

Blimey, that's insane.
Where is it? Also is there another way down?
If not, how would it work if you were on your way up and someone was on the way down?

It's in Maharashtra, India.

I imagine that it's actually quite safe. The pile of rotting corpses at the bottom will break your fall.
