Not sure about the cheese and leek however it does occur to me KFC could branch out into knitwear quite easily. They wouldnt even need to produce any new packaging to ship the stuff in.

I apologise for that one in advance.

The Allotment Shop on Holmcroft allotments is open again for the new season, from ten to half twelve, Saturdays and Sundays. You might have to join the society for a nominal fee, but they can supply most of your requirements at reasonable prices. The entrance is on Eccleshall Road, just out of town from Alliance Street. Go through the gateway and follow the track round to the car park in front of the shop.

Decided to sort my greenhouse out, any tips on growing chillis?
Have a look at this. There's probably not much else to do in Norwich.

Edit: I've just had a quick read and I would not recommend the enhanced lighting scenario. You'ld have coppers tearing up your floorboards within the hour!

I do suspect lighting up the greenhouse would bring, err, problems! I do have a spare viv with heater knocking about, may use that to start them off.

I grew a chilli plant last year. Just kept it in a pot indoors until weather got ok then left it on the patio.

I'm fairly confident that you're not a child. Are you a pet then? Why else be concerned?

How do I edit this?

They should grow fine in your greenhouse or on a window sill. Pepper type crops tend to go into 'amusing vegetable' shapes if you water too inconsistently or let them dry to the point of wilting. They'll drink lots when they're growing the fruit too, and a bit of tomato food or similar at that stage will also help them along, but they'll still be perfectly edible if you ignore all that advice.

The damp summer last year meant my last crop were dissapointingly lacking in heat, but there's not a lot one can do about that (having a 200w bulb on for several hours a day in the greenhouse seems to somewhat undermine the fact that I grow my own for environmental and cost reasons).

Hmm, I do have some heat lamps from my reptile kit......

Saw in Wilkos this morning a plant drip feeder, essentially 23m of small bore hose with joiny bits and drippy bits, to make your own irrigation system. I have a tap about 3m away from the greenhouse, tempted to buy one for the tomatoes regardless and maybe the chillis.

Gonna spend this weekend sorting out the greenhouse, weather permitting, so hopefully be able to start soon. Needs a fair bit of work though, and got loads of dead branches to burn that appear to have been there for years. When is a good time to lop a branch off an apple tree? As we have 2 that really need cutting back quite drasticly.
