I may have my wires completley crossed but I'm sure I read this was something to do with Martin Lennon of Rugby Club infamy :/

I have never heard of ELM, are they some kind of developers?
I think this is them; http://elmgroupltd.com/

I've tried to find the article that was in the Express and Star last week, without success, I was hoping someone here would have more info/gossip.

My only concern is that this building has been saved from "development" of the wrong order.

We were commenting that it was good to see someone making an effort to restore it properly the other day

They've already stripped the paint off the windows and repainted them however they have their work cutout on one of them as they're so rotten....

They are using Re-Stor, specialist sash window restorers. I can vouch for the quality of their work as they restored all my sash window's, including some that were very rotten, did a good job too!

Let's say it one more time for sash windows!

Few thousand being spent, then.

Just glad they haven't chosen; knock it down (screw Grade II listed status) and build a far uglier replacement, all for £1 cheaper.

The previous owners also invested heavily in the building and it is great that others are continuing that work to see a restoration fully realised.

Saved, Hurrah!

I think it's ELM that was mentioned in the paper, but I can no longer find the article on line.
Something about them resurrecting it to it's former glory, this is what I like to see and read about.
Gothic Cottage will be restored as close as possible to original designs., including replacing horid front windows with original 1840-42 designs. ELM aims to bring a classic building back to life and employ some young Stafford apprentices in developing its business. Seems like a fair plan?

Plan is to spend a great deal to invest in a classic building - it seems very reasonable
