Yes, Britton Chester Wearn was born - 9:30pm, 15th Dec - 3.5kg (or 7lb 7oz in old money) - We came home yesterday after a bit of a long and eventful week. Everyone at the County Hospital was wonderful but it's good to be home.

thank you for all the kind wishes!
congratumalations!!

mrs. db and i are expecting our first little bundle of joy.. she's a bit gutted/apprehensive about having to go to Stoke for the birth.. would you mind sharing your experience? happy to take it to personal conversation if that's more appropriate :)

thanks.

edit: just realised that "county hospital" is the new name for stafford hospital, innit? i thought you meant stoke.. oh well..

I'm actually writing it up for another forum, I'll send it your way when I'm done. Having been through some slightly hairy stuff, I see now why they are moving the consultant led stuff to Stoke.

Congratulations! Wow, I was well out... Who gets first babysitting duties then?

The very talented Danielle of Uber Angel Cupcakes - There's a follow up blog post here - We raised £65 in the end, which Wesleyan Assurance will match since BCH is their charity of the year

yeah, since it's our first and we really don't know what to expect, even if we had the choice at this stage then we would choose Stoke - like you say, we just wouldn't want to be caught out without consultants/theatres/etc. to hand if they are needed on the big day :hmm:

glad to hear all is well with you and yours.. i look forward to the write up!

Just started reading this thread - how lovely a new baby enjoy being a a mummy and daddy it's the best thing in the world. I think that having the children was my best and most wonderful achievement in life. I still tell them that mommy loves them and I'm proud on them. I am always talking about them to my friends and when i say the kids they keep reminding me that they are not kids anymore at 36. 31 and 26. there are still my babies..
