Guildhall closure?

Don’t vote for any Councillors or MPs who don’t actively campaign to reinstate A&E and Maternity at Stafford…
Don't vote for local councillors that don't even live your ward. Vote for local councillors on local issues & not on national party issues.
The main reason the conservatives did do well in recent local elections is because they've made such a good job handling Brexit & Covid. At least those people actually voted.

Poundland Becomes Next Victim Of Guildhall Cull

In a statement to Stafford FM, Poundland said “We’re as disappointed as our colleagues and customers to be closing our store in the Guildhall Shopping Centre, Stafford, on Monday 23 August. We would have liked to stay, but the landlord has asked us to leave. We are looking at other options for Stafford.”

- I wonder if the soon to be vacant Poundstretcher by TK Maxx might get a new inhabitant pretty quickly

The access out of that retail park where TK Maxx and Poundstretcher is, is its biggest issue. If it was me I'd still pursue a unit at Queen's....

I've long thought the medium sized unit next to b and m would be the perfect fit for a poundland. Poundlands want to be bigger to accommodate their freezer, homeware and clothing ranges and so seems like an ideal spot.

I can't see them being drawn to queen's being honest. I don't think it will bring high enough footfall

Which is why we need to support that remains
True, to an extent but there remains footfall. Some Saturday's it is a pleasant surprise how much footfall their is. I never expected the cafe in the park to do as well as it seems to be doing but I'm thrilled to be proven wrong.

Poundland in particular also go for the low rent, low footfall areas as they know people will go there for their stuff.
