Guildhall closure?

Jonah

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
I walked through the Guildhall today for the first time in I don't know how long. Well I tried to walk from Crabberry Street to St Mary's but couldn't as it's been completely blocked off. The place is definitely Zombieland.

All that money for 'transforming the highstreet' is tied up in schemes the council claims is commercially sensitive and won't tell us about. Who wants to take bets that money goes to the Guildhall owners.....
Bets are off

What really happened

Minister tells chums:

Buy up useless town centre shopping centres at knock down prices

Ministers send your money to Conservative seat towns and tell the no business experience local authorities to change the face of the High Street

Local authorities buy useless shopping centres at inflated prices

Chums make a mint

Ministers have their retirement plans secured

Small towns still look shit

PISSING IT UP THE WALL contd

2021 Stafford Borough Council gets Central Government grant of £14.37 million

2023 Stafford Borough Council grant now worth £11.7 million - INFLATION

Stafford Borough Councillors - WTF!?

Waiting for some property magnate to come back to you with a reply on a shopping centre offer for two years is like shitting your pants and then letting it dry thinking you can peel it off later and no-one will notice and you can carry on wearing your saggy grey Y fronts for the rest of the year

If you don't spend what's left, ie less and less, by this time next year, ... you forfeit it!

You have to give it back

PS See you all at the photocall for the new paving slabs in the square chaps!! ( so that's what a million pound looks like )

PPS spotted the new Asylum Centre yet?

I think with the leaking roof slowly rotting the upper structure and the fact the carpark closed due to structural issues, I think the whole thing will be pulled/fall down before the current owners decide what to do with it.

Tbh , the structure can't be that safe if sheets of glass just fall from the sky , I'm still amazed no one died. If that happened in the day , it would have been a different story. Not to mention the deafening noise the glass would have made when it hit the floor.

Actually went into the guildhall, the entertainer , today.

They said they still have 4 years on their contract and aren't going anywhere.

Could well be business suicide? No footfall, people assuming the place is empty etc so I hope they either have a loyal following or are well advertised.
The whole situation is very strange. I walked along Earl Street the other day and to see all the Elements stuff still on display seems a bit of a waste and maybe Carl could use it elsewhere.

There's only entertainer, fragrance shop, money exchange and a jewelry place for which I can't remember the name of. Plus the other jewelry and body shop by the doors.

According to the website - there's also all the shops that face onto Crabbery Street.

I'm trying to think of I've ever seen a branch of the Entertainer not in a shopping center...

I don't think the ones on the outside count, they are all in Separate older buildings which the guildhall is built around only exception is peccadilloes which will probably have to go once they demolish the market/carpark
