Hello. I'm new to Stafford and new to this board!!

Hi there everybody...and a Happy New Year.

We're going to be moving to Stafford from Kent in a few weeks because of my husband's job (we've found a house to rent in Beaconside) and I am desperate to meet other women in my situation. I'm a mum to a 21 month old little boy and a baby girl who is due to be born in about 10 days(!!) and I would love to found out about Mother/Toddler groups or anywhere that I can go to talk to other ladies and keep the old postnatal blues away and find company for my son.

I know winter is not the best time to move and I don't know a soul in Stafford and I'm scared to go round the bend if I don't make friends a.s.a.p. So far the people I've come across (when we were looking for a place to live) were really friendly and I'm looking forward to living in Stafford but will go doo-lally if I don't get some company.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks...Wendy

Good luck on the birth, I'll pm you soon with my details, I'm pretty local to your new abode. There is a nursery on beaconside called Rascals, and a few mum and tots groups in the area. Is your husband army/raf/gurkha/hospital ?

Hello Wendy,

I know absolutely nothing about mother/toddler groups in Stafford but welcome to the forum and the ford! I'm sure you will love it!

Like BBC, I know nuffink, but the heartiest of welcomes to you and your bump/new baby, son and hubbie.

Interestingly enough (or not), my Dad moved from Kent (St Mary's Platt near Borough Green to be precise) to Stafford when he was a nipper, and has lived there ever since. What bit of Kent you moving from if you don't mind my asking?

4000th post? Whatever, I'm nonchalant..
Even more interesting, I had Superman on DVD for Christmas. Got Clark Kent in it aint it.
I'm sure you'll settle in fine as long as you like banks, charity shops and traffic lights.

Thanks for your replies so far...sorry about the delay...you know, Crimble and all that!! You lot sound like you're nutters(!!), but I mean that in the nicest possible sense.

Mr. JimBob23, I am moving from Bexley (the London Borough of, but we much prefer Kent!!). Miss T...thanks, can't wait to hear from you. No, the hubby is not army/RAF or hospital...he was a lowly farmer that's now working elsewhere in the Agricultural industry but without the need for wellies (and minus the smell!!)

I've now got a deffo date (for the C-section)...for this Friday 12th (gulp!!). Wish me luck!! Keep those name suggestions coming in!!

I'll be back to sunny Beaconside the first week of February...don't forget me!!

Ta-ra for now...I'm off to pack me bags!!

Hi Wendy! This is quality...due to my oh-so-hectic business and personal life (!) i've neglected the forum for a couple o'weeks, and when i get back you've signed up and are now less than 24 hours away from producing a mini-forumite! Top notch. Hope all goes well!
