What would you need to draw one? Streetview doesn't really show my house well, so would you need some pictures?
Hi Lucy,
Sorry for the delayed reply.

I know what you mean about Streetview, it doesn't always work, so I'd need a picture, how's your photography skills?

A simple snapshot of the whole house, or as much as you can get into the picture is ideal, you (or whoever may be interested) can then email me the pic and I'll take a look, then let you know what I can do.

Actually, I'll post an image of how the process works.

For anyone who may be interested, I have more information on my website, where I go into a little detail (perhaps too much detail!) about how the homesandlines process works.

Anyone who wants a home (or a particular building) illustrated can contact me, and we'll see how it goes from there.

Thanks,

Just incase a few of you are wondering where the house I've drawn is, in my process post...
...it's not in Stafford, nor is it my home, it was drawn for someone who lives in Erdington.

I'd have been very hard on you, if i'd have had that as my competition!

It's just an example of how the process works.

Hello,

Would anyone care to guess the location of this building?
Extra points to those who know what may be behind the big double doors!

Sorry to be picky and this is only constructive critisism.... but had I paid for that to be done I'd be a little dissapointed as it is not centralised within the frame. Things like this would annoy perfectionists.

Hi wmrcomputers,

Sorry to hear that.

I take care in the positioning of the drawing in the mount and take in to account a couple of things, before deciding on a final position.

I understand it's not going to be to everyone's taste.

If someone asked me to draw their home or a building, they will have hopefully seen examples of my style via FaceBook, Twitter or my website before getting to the stage of being dissapointed, with what I had produced for them.

Uh, it's not wmrcomputers behind the double doors (above illustration), is it?

My friend is an artist, and she doesn't always centralise things in the frame either.

Something to do with an artists eye, the angle of the object within the frame and which direction the scene was taken from, what you are meant to focus on etc.

I think, (but what do I know?) that centralising a photograph is different to centralising a piece of artwork.

It's may be just me, but I personally think it should be centralised that's all. I understand that an artists eye might vary to joe bloggs such as myself, but to me it doesn't make sense regardless of angle etc. If there were some minimal detail taking it further to the left I'd get it. I suppose my point is that the customer them selves may have a preference and the choice should be given to them to make maybe?
