I had a hell of a job giving my parents house full of stuff away. Took some clothing down to cash for clothes as some charities only wanted certain things. No furniture without fire labels attached would be considered. A set of 6 dining chairs had 1 label missing off one of the set of 6 , so Katherine house or Heart Charity wouldn't have them , and wouldn't take the table on it's own without the full set of chairs..

We called Heart Research charity who came out and pulled their noses up at perfectly good furniture , saying they had too many tables etc , so didn't want any more. Rang them again to offer other things later ...blokes walked in and said they didn't want what we were offering them then, but would take the table previously rejected by the previous crew !

Would only take the upstairs furniture away if we got it downstairs , as they weren't insured to carry it downstairs.

Antique shop bloke came and looked around. Just happened to still be there when the 2nd lot of heart charity blokes were taking the furniture, so left him alone for a few minutes. Obviously having a snoop around at that time, as said after that he was only interested in the contents of mums jewellery box , which I'd had told him we weren't getting rid of.

We hired 2 skips and lots disappeared over night by people ransacking it (and leaving a right mess all over the front garden)

Most of the stuff was taken away by some eastern european scrap men , who also did us and them a favour by dismantling the big ugly stairlift . They broke a few hammers in the process , but managed to do it without any sign there had been one there in the end.
People might moan about them, but they worked bloody hard getting stuff out for us over several weeks.

The stairlift people wanted over £200 to take it away , even though it was still functioning and fully paid for and originally bought from them.

We just left the carpets and curtains and carpets in .

do you have an electric cooker and the stair lift at all? Think I know someone that could use them.
