I wish I'd never looked. At £240,000 now ours is down by 5%. I'll be crying into the champers tonight.
I think mine's the same. Next door is up for sale, for £100.000, if mine goes for the same price, which given the state its on is more than doubtfull, it will mean that they've only gone up a grand in 10yrs.Down 19% for us..... As i thought, nill or negative equity.
As g said, the price is rising but the value of the money used to buy is falling. British money anyway. The values are inflation adjusted.
It's just adjusted for inflation - currency valuations will take a longer time to work through...As g said, the price is rising but the value of the money used to buy is falling. British money anyway.
How pee'd off must the folk of North Ormesby be when they read their report?
I suspect it reads something like
Your ward is crap
The average house price is F.ALL in 2017 Doesn't matter what the % change is cos no-one wants to live here.
For the average house price in your ward you could buy a monopoly house
or Knightsbridge and Belgravia can buy the entire property range in your town by merely selling their delapidated garden shed.
Reminded me of this.....Good point, well made. I suppose a better analogy is that your house price is higher but not by as much as a freddo* and everything else you buy on average. Who'd have thought in 2007 that a frog shaped chocolate bar would be a better investment!
*Other confectionery items are available, most performed better than houses in terms of sale prices.
Reminded me of this.....
"In 1999 minimum wage was 5p. This means you could buy 72 freddos with one hours wage.
“Now minimum wage is £7.50/hr yet freddos are 25p meaning you can only buy 30 freddos with one hours wage.
For the continuum of freddo purchasing we need £18/hr minimum. "
