Hi folks,

Went over to Iron Bridge on Saturday just gone, it was World Heritage Day and so they closed off the main street and had a bit of a festival going on. Stalls with crafts, games and charity etc, food stalls etc etc...

The park and ride was free just for the event but was full, so the overflow went on the old Aga factory, very well thought out. There was also live music all day, loads of people there so a great atmosphere and at 8pm there was a fireworks show...

Admittedly the weather on Saturday was excellent making the event all the better, but I know I will definitely be going back next year as it was a really enjoyable day.

Thought people might like to know as I had friends over at the weekend and was really struggling for something inexpensive but fun / interesting to do...

From Telford originally and used to spend a fair bit of time in Ironbridge, its one of the few places where it is nice to go and have a drink. Went back there for the first time in ages a week or two back, its got even better.

We used to be volunteers at Blists Hill a long time ago and are still Friends of Ironbridge Gorge Museums. Always a good day out - and the Ironbridge Brewery brewery tap is a fairly recent addition to the attractions!

Ironbridge is the home of my employers main office. Unfortunately, not near the river. Self Unlimited base in Teflon/Ironbridge is a large collection of residential accomodation, offices, meeting rooms next to a large mixed housing estate, surrounded by country side. 30+ trip for 'Ford is A449, M54, Lights, roundabouts, dual carriage ways! Bit like 'Ford. Thank god I work in Parkside, and only need to go there for training!
