What's the idea behind having the finish in the town centre? Is it so people will finish the race then go to John Lewis all sticky sweaty?

Or are the National Truss stupidly expensive ?

Or all four?

Maximum disruption to maximum number of people. The Ironman mission statement.

The buggers have even prevented the pikeys from getting on to the car park at Doxey.
As you say, maximum disruption to all wìth no discrimination.

We like to see equality.

Edit for spelling.

In Ireland, these tend to be know as the Metal Man, rather than being more specific about the actual material, the more famous one is at Tramore, They are harbour and hazard indicators from the old days and are still maintained by the Commissioners of Irish Lights.

The one at Sligo harbour entrance being equally sartorial.

There were four in Ireland, but only these two remain.

It is more that they (the NT) just didn't want to participate. Because they are like that.

SCC had tied themselves to a four-year commitment to host it - this is the third? - whilst simultaneously in the process of off-loading Shugborough.

Left-hand not knowing what right-hand doing,

Commitment remains, suitable venue does not.

Borough Council steps in and saves the day - Borough & County combine for one glorious day.

Could this be the beginning of a beautiful friendship?

Missed a step...

Everybody else hates everything about every thing about it.

Complains heavily.

One more year to go - re-think maybe?

Anyone know what the safest route to the station from Beaconside (let’s say the roundabout at Beaconside and Weston Road) would be on the day? I suspect going the direct route will not end well

Up to Weston turn left and catch a train at Stone :)

The map says Weston Road is open Westboumd on Sunday so you should then be able or go round Queensway past Asda to the Newport Road. No idea how you'd get back though?

Coming from the North end it looks like Tenterbanks is closed so the only options would be to go around Queensway and past Asda or go out via Seighford out to Derrington and back down the Newport Road.

Glad I'm away in sunny Norfolk at the moment, sounds like absolute chaos.

The signage around Weston Road suggests that we might be expecting quite a few visitors from Wales.

Straight into town

Just make sure you have a number tattooed on your left nipple and your shorts are pulled up so tight your gonads represent the toe, or the eye, of a camel

Fix gaze at imaginary person breaking into your car 600 yards away

Add some spittle to the right of your face to complete the manoeuvre
