my router is an absolute dog.. it drops the wireless connection whenever it feels like it, and needs to be rebooted at least once a day or it stops working altogether..
after a brief , i have a feeling it's related to the encryption used.. now, obviously i'm not going to just turn this off, and run an open network with gay abandon, but how about if i turned stopped broadcasting my SSID and turned on MAC filtering - would this be enough?
presumably, even if someone did manage to discover my SSID and connect to the network, their client would be disallowed due to not being on the MAC whitelist.. surely this is robust enough for a home network? or am i overlooking something?
