Isn't technology great?

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
I'm posting this thread whilst enjoying a huge cappuccino and an even huger chocolate chip cookie from Starbucks in the town centre. I'm using my MacBook Pro which is connected to the internet via a personal hotspot from my iPhone 4S.

I have already checked my emails, and made amendments to a couple of flyers I am producing for a client, sent the amended files to my client all from a big squashy comfortable chair. I'm not at home today as my car is being worked on by AA Silencers so instead of having to walk 4 miles home, I brought my laptop with me so I can work from where I like.

What would we do without technology?

The real problem with technology is that they keep packaging devices into little flat frisby-esque tablets. That means that when they don't work properly (which seems to be quite frequently when I'm trying to operate them) they're too easy to launch across the room/field/town centre etc. It's just as the said device leaves the grasps of your fingertips that you remember how much it cost, and they always fly better than they bounce. I don't interface well with technology. It causes stress, costs too much, is normally obsolete as soon as I can afford it, gets crammed into every little corner of life whether it is called for or not and it doesn't bounce well enough. There should be more bouncy technology.

And yes, I am aware of the irony of using an on line forum to berate technology.

It occurred to me today that back in the day, if you saw somebody talking to themselves you assumed they were a bit crazy and would probably cross the road if they were heading for you - just to be on the safe side.

Nowadays you assume they are talking on the phone through some sort of hands-free doodah. Trouble with that, of course, is that they might actually be talking to themselves and you might be heading straight for some crazy-assed mf with no time to take any evasive action.

Rough with the smooth i guess.

Sitting earlier outside discussing the need for tv ariels anymore, and went into reminiscing mode about how I knew people in the 90's who had rental tv's where you had to put money in a meter on the tv to make it work, fast forward a few years and I can watch crystal clear tv on any channel I like where ever I like.

Where the bee sucks, there suck i:
In an aerial i lie;
There i crouch while Marwood cries.
On Admin's back i do fly
After summer merrily.
Merrily, merrily shall i live now
Feck knows why and feck knows how.

In the Main Gangway through Generators there were at least seven different spelling of the word 'Aerials'...
