Wanted Jigsaws and Books

If you’ve had a sort out during lockdown and are waiting for the charity shops to open then I am here to assist and we can help each other.

In our village there a quite a few people self isolating who are reading more and doing jigsaws. Many of these people don’t have internet/ don’t order online and are completely reliant on this service that we’re providing.
They make a donation and this goes into church funds.

We’ve now completely run out of jigsaws. Absolutely nothing left.

So if you’ve got any jigsaws that you’d like to donate (or sell at a reasonable cost) then I’m happy to come and collect.
Regarding books, we are looking for good quality fiction only.

Thanks so much if you’re able to help with this.

With the local Libraries closed perhaps Staffordshire Library members with a tablet might want try BarrowBox for Ebooks and AudioBooks.

A big advantage is that the readers can change font size if a large print font is needed.

Good call, @Chillybean .

One advantage of an eReader is that you don't even have to hold it. You can prop it up against a sandal as you lie on your sunbed.

ETA Just read that you can't use Borrowbox on a Kindle eReader. A Kindle Fire, yes .... but not an eReader.

I can’t begin to thank her enough for the kindness and generosity in donating all those fabulous jigsaws, it really is so incredibly kind.
Sometimes, some people are absolutely amazing.
My wife was very pleased to meet you and delighted that you are are happy with the jigsaws. Thank you for the nice comments and the card was beautiful.

Even more jigsaws the other day, thank you so much.

Lovely to meet you @Manorboy I missed you the first time I popped round and thought that you were hiding from me which is perfectly understandable.

What a fabulous couple you are, totally my cup of tea. I only came to collect the jigsaws, but ended up chatting for ages.
I do chat for England, I hope that your tea wasn’t burning while you were making conversation with me.

I meant to do an update to this a while back.

During lockdown I was organising a village sale, swop, donation thing for people that couldn’t get out.

We had for sale, or donation, books, jigsaws, cards and anything that anyone wanted to donate.

I’ve now handed the reins over to someone else, but I’d like to thank everyone that supported me during the 10 weeks that I organised this, we raised £1084 for Bednall Church funds.
