I am just like @Thehooperman , not interested in the whole thing at all, but........I watched a little this morning as I was up early, when the Queen was taken into the Abbey....then I turned over to food network.

The carer had a lie-in, got up and made us coffee, & said 'let's see how the queen's getting on'.....it was just coming to the end of the first service.... and we watched the lot from them on, it was very interesting & moving....the carer said that it's something we won't see again in our lifetime, but I think we might. King Charles III is already 73, so our generation may be the only generation to see 2 royal monarchs funerals.
We watched it as it was something me & hubby probably won't see again . (And it was either that or watching hubbys horrible sci-fi or horror films he's recorded all day).
I was more interested in watching the blues & royals on the horses , as my nephew used to ride in the processions (I could never make out which one was him though , as they all looked the same) , and willing the horses not to play up.
Most touching part, which got me in tears, was seeing the 2 corgis watching the procession, just after seeing the queens pony watching on.

Yes, very touching, Sandi, Muick and Emma the pony...did you see how Emma stamped her feet?!

We were watching to see if our friends husband was in with the pipers....he's a bagpipe player in the Royal Signals and has done a lot of royal parades in the past.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Goodwood, realising that those of us staying over on Sunday night might want to watch the funeral, set out a big screen. Because staff were all off duty during the main part of the ceremony, they watched it with us. There was also a large buffet laid on for everyone, free of charge.

Drove home after and the motorways were deserted.

Yes , noticed that.

One thing that intrigues me is how everyone can last that long before, during and after the service without needing the loo !

Not as rare as Edward VIII of which there used to be a Ludlow version at the Marston Road Post Office.
I've never seen an Eddie Yates box anywhere.

Assessment I heard in the pub tonight - The royal family? They're like travellers, you can hardly understand their accent, they're obsessed with horses and extravagant funerals and ridiculously gaudy things, They have loads of money, but never seem to do much work and they pay no taxes. And they only marry their cousins.

I wasn't particularly interested in the funeral or services but I got sucked into watching the procession through the streets of London. That was quite the sight to behold, what a spectacle. Definitely felt like a moment of history we were living through.

Certainly put on a good show and was a sight to behold. I'm not into the funeral services part , but watched most of the procession .

Is it ironic at all that people are FURIOUS that a pair of TV presenters potentially used their privilege to jump the queue for the departed figurehead of a hereditary monarchy...?
