Im clearly out of touch because i thought they expanded a franchise chain and then went bust
Not sure what happened but for a brief period of a few weeks, maybe last year or the year before they were Bistro Le Coq, then it changed back to Pastiche again.
I would agree, I've always loved Pastiche and am a regular, the food is always excellent and I love the way they change the menu every month

The restaurant was started by John Ashmore who franchised the restaurant, seemingly as an exit strategy. He now owns and runs the Yorkshireman in Rugeley.

Just over 2 years ago (when I believe it had gone down hill) Tom Sargeant bought the business as he was running the Hanley franchise successfully. He works extremely hard collecting the produce fresh before i'm thinking of getting up! The original founder is a silent shareholder now.

Pastiche is easily my favourite restaurant in Stafford for atmosphere and the changing menus mean that I am always likely to try something new, Ive never been disappointed!

I'm debating going here with my other half over the weekend, and just looked up the website as the deal seemed fantastic news especially as it's my turn to pay for the meal, but unfortunately it appears that offer only runs on a Mon - Thurs, however I am still planning on going there though over the weekend as it is normally good fodder there

Had a really nice meal there on a Saturday afternoon the other week.

However, as a MASSIVE grammar and spelling Nazi I noticed about six or seven mistakes on their menu...DUN-DUN-DER! Has no effect on their food or service or anything. But once I noticed one mistake I spent the rest of my stay hunting for more. And their were more.

But again, this has very little impact. In fact, if I were you I'd just ignore this post.

Well . . . um . . . like most Nazi's I require you do as I say, not as I do.
i would recommend that you quit your job as a grammar nazi, as you are currently woefully underperforming :teef:

Had another super night there on friday, only small gripe is the over zealous use of peppers this time. I guess i'm in the minority hating the things regarldless of their colour. still fab though.

Well me and Mr Slainte went for a meal to Pastiche on Sat night and have to say it was all bloody lovely.
All very well cooked food, and superbly presented. Only gripe which isn't a massive gripe is we were sat on the elevated level and it was way too hot on there and, for those of you who know me on here and how massively clumsy I can be, the railings were lose in places, but had a superb night!

£11.50 for 2 courses usually and now second meal is half price so £16.50 for 2 courses for 3 people. CANT GO WRONG
The £11.50 and second meal half price offer is now only with a valid voucher from a paper (not sure which one) or if you have received a text from Pastiche. The staff last night were quite stringent about this.

Seems a little silly to restrict the offer to those who read a particular paper and hence a one off visit subject to the number of vouchers they have or to the clientelle you already have on your customer database.

Anyway after a minor problem with overcooked bubble and squeak we had another good meal here.

And we used the Good Old Stafford card to get another 10% off.

Superb Pigeon on Wild Mushroom risotto starter, good Barnsley chop and absolutely yummy banana cheesecake - well done pastiche.

Just thought this little gem of a restuarant deserved its own thread after being posted about in others.
I have vistied here a few times in past couple of months and previously used the place infrequently, but so far, I can honestly say I haven't had a bad meal there and I think it is very good value for money
