I think the bookies may have underestimated how strongly people feel about the hospital and blame the Cons, even if it's not all their fault.
That effect could be caused by Tory voters either abstaining or voting for other candidates - I see little evidence of that happening.

Of course, a lot of others could come out of the woodwork and vote for non-Tory candidates - I see little evidence of that, either.

Some Tory votes will go to UKIP from people who think they're more Tory.

Some Labour votes will go to UKIP from people who are more concerned about immigration than most other things.

Some Labour votes will go to NHS & Greens from people who would like more effort on the NHS and Green matters.

Lib Dem* votes likely to be generally scattered to the wind.

Most people are Tories round here anyway.

Likely result - Lefroy win with slightly reduced majority - from a lower turn-out.

Results from a general discussion with fair selection of people likely to actually vote, over the last few months.

*In fact, Lib Dems have never been mentioned,
Good analysis but I don't think a Tory victory is nailed on because although UKIP has took votes from Labour recently, I suspect that those disaffected who voted Tory in 2010 have been UKIP supporters for a couple of years now therefore the Tories has already lost a large chunk of it's 2010 support long before the campaign started. Also I suspect that Labour will gain more Lib Dem deserters than the Tories will.

Struggling to find information on Stafford's count. I take it that it will be held at the leisure centre? Does anyone know whether they are counting through the night or waiting until the morning?

Both Stafford and Stone votes will be taken to RAF Stafford and flown by Chinook over the Channel to be dropped into the briney FACT

Stafford will probably announce the result at 8am on Thursday.

Seriously, though, how do you know if a postal vote ever arrived?

People are actually going to go out of their way to vote for LadyBoy, even though he has seen the closure of Stafford Hospital and the closure of Staffordshire University - because they always vote Conservative

And that is the end of their thought process

Not a question, not a hesitation

And we are not allowed to kidnap or knee-cap them because that would be seen as undemocratic

Enjoying a drop of red.
Green polo neck, generally black leather lace-ups and I've played(?) golf once, about 1990 - on the pitch'n'putt at the Green Man.

..and they are platinum highlights that cost a fortune to keep tinted up..
I've always thought of you as this :P
