Laptop problems

Anybody recommend someone to have a look at my laptop. Big problems after I tried to install some software but it crashed during and now won’t load Windows.
I know wmrcomputing is no longer doing this sort of thing.

Care to share your experiences? I've only used them once a few years ago. But I would use them again if I needed to.

First option (which you might already have tried) is to boot up on a Windows Repair disk and consider the options offered. The repair disk must be for the same version of Windows as that installed. If you don't have one, you might know somebody who has a computer with the same version of Windows as yours you could get them to make one, it's easily done from within Windows.

Computer update ... transferred some files to flash drives.
Reinstalled Windows 10 with a recovery drive and it seems to be fine ... so far.
Some of the files on the flash drives which I verified as having copied are now no longer there ... weird.
Tomorrow have to install programmes, apps and generally do lots of set up.

Worth noting you can take an image of your C drive from within versions of Windows from Windows 7 up. This literally takes a snapshot of the drive which you can then restore via a repair disk if all else fails. The image is stored on a separate drive, either internal or external and will restore your machine to the time the image was taken.
To get to it, open Control Panel, select File History then System Image Backup. This is not really designed for backing up personal files, but purely for disaster recovery. Hence the need for a separate drive to store the image.
