I have taught corps of drums and flute bands as well as delivering individual tuition over the past 2o years. I teach you how to play Bb flute using a traditional easy to learn method. The method I teach enables you to learn to play the tunes you want to, quickly and without ever having to learn how to read or understand music scores.

The Bb flute is played mainly in Northern Ireland, Scotland, parts of England and by the foot regiments of the British Army and Army Cadets and is derived from the simple fife. The fife was used initially by the British Army to relay commands on the field of battle for many years until it was replaced by the bugle and finally the radio. It used to be played by militias across the UK but its use has declined since the mid 20th century.

I want to get people interested in playing these flutes again to keep the tradition alive in England. I take lessons for a minimum of 1 hour and charge £15 per lesson. The first 1 hour lesson is £10 and if you enjoy it and want to take it further, you can book the next four lessons for £50.

You don't need to buy your own flute as I have excellent quality student flutes and I can teach in your own home if preferred. (Stafford Area)
