I know! You don't realise seeing them daily, but Ollie can hardly fit on my lap when I work now. And by that I mean his head is on my shoulder and his bum hanging off the chair! I thought they'd stopped, but saw them next to another we've not seen in weeks and can see the difference. They've got so big.
We were told to wait til he was a year old, so had put it out of our minds. Suddenly it's an immediate decision, the vet has said they'll do him early as Mango can't be spayed yet and her dysplasia means any risk of pregnancy needs to be avoided. He's a stunning dog (I may be biased) and I guess part of me always thought maybe my next dog could be one of his pups, and before we knew about Mango we did discuss trying to separate them when needed til they were able to breed healthily.I must say it has never even crossed my mind whether or not to get an animal neutered, it's just a thing you do. Maybe it is a man thing...
You can't get rid of him! He's your baby! No, get his nuts off asap. The consequences of what may/will happen if Mango get pregnant aren't worth thinking about. We were told to wait til he was a year old, so had put it out of our minds. Maybe I should get someone else to take him.....
I think @tek-monkey means getting someone else to take him on the day of the snip. So they get blamed. You can't get rid of him! He's your baby! No, get his nuts off asap. The consequences of what may/will happen if Mango get pregnant aren't worth thinking about.
Ollie has started ti show a little aggression
Not much, but it's there, and it's getting stronger. Last week he starting being aggressive to two dogs at his puppy class, I thought it was because the groups got changed round and he was unsure of the two new ones (both bigger than him). He was still fine with the other dogs and wanting to play. Last night he went for a lovely little rough collie that tried to play with his ball, didn't hurt him but it really concerned me. This morning he just snapped viciously at Mango because she came near when he was on my lap.
He's about 5 1/2 months, guess this is the start of his testosterone? Looking up on the best ways to manage it and quite a few mention getting him neutered. It's a decision we were going to have to make anyway but it feels so final! Apparently only men over think it like this.....
Oh no, I definitely meant get someone else to take him to the vets! I couldn't get rid of him, he even shares my pillow in the caravan! You can't get rid of him! He's your baby! No, get his nuts off asap. The consequences of what may/will happen if Mango get pregnant aren't worth thinking about.
Phew! Thank god for that! xxOh no, I definitely meant get someone else to take him to the vets! I couldn't get rid of him, he even shares my pillow in the caravan!
He's a stunning dog (I may be biased) ....

Yes, I was jokingYes, every single dog owner thinks that their own dog is a stunning dog, every dog owner thinks their dog is the best dog in the world.
Yours are both beautiful though.
As @Lucy says, taking your dog to be “done” is just something that you do as a responsible dog owner.
Owning a dog (or any pet) comes with adult responsibilities.
You shouldn’t really buy a dog but then expect someone else to take it to the vet for you to be done. It’s about stepping up and doing the right thing.
I’ve edited this because it sounds harsh, and I didn’t mean it to, and you were probably joking about someone else taking him anyway!
You have no idea how many times I tried to take that shot, only for her to run off just as I was getting focus! Standing against sand fine, the sea behind her maybe, but she seemed to decide that every time I knelt down to get a shot with Cadair in it was time to chase Ollie! That picture of Mango on the beach with the long gangly legs and the mountain in the background is a cracker. Is that Cader Idris ?
Was my first mountain, didn't realise til later that if you approach from the north it's only half the climb!I've had dealings with that mountain. 11 years ago on the way down I blew out my left knee (old bike injury kicking in.) I owe it one, and I will have my revenge.
