They've got so big.
I know! You don't realise seeing them daily, but Ollie can hardly fit on my lap when I work now. And by that I mean his head is on my shoulder and his bum hanging off the chair! I thought they'd stopped, but saw them next to another we've not seen in weeks and can see the difference.

They've been very tired since we came back, and both quite clingy. Was probably quite a weird experience for them, they've never been away, and we weren't far from where we got them (actually passed the place we got Mango).

Ollie has started ti show a little aggression :(

Not much, but it's there, and it's getting stronger. Last week he starting being aggressive to two dogs at his puppy class, I thought it was because the groups got changed round and he was unsure of the two new ones (both bigger than him). He was still fine with the other dogs and wanting to play. Last night he went for a lovely little rough collie that tried to play with his ball, didn't hurt him but it really concerned me. This morning he just snapped viciously at Mango because she came near when he was on my lap.

He's about 5 1/2 months, guess this is the start of his testosterone? Looking up on the best ways to manage it and quite a few mention getting him neutered. It's a decision we were going to have to make anyway but it feels so final! Apparently only men over think it like this.....

When we had the big cat done we booked him in for when we were on holiday so Gurly took him to the vet whilst she was house/cat sitting. In his eyes she got the blame. Was a standing joke for ages, "don't leave me with her again dad, you'll never guess what she did to me while you were away"

I must say it has never even crossed my mind whether or not to get an animal neutered, it's just a thing you do. Maybe it is a man thing...
We were told to wait til he was a year old, so had put it out of our minds. Suddenly it's an immediate decision, the vet has said they'll do him early as Mango can't be spayed yet and her dysplasia means any risk of pregnancy needs to be avoided. He's a stunning dog (I may be biased) and I guess part of me always thought maybe my next dog could be one of his pups, and before we knew about Mango we did discuss trying to separate them when needed til they were able to breed healthily.

Maybe I should get someone else to take him.....

You can't get rid of him! He's your baby! No, get his nuts off asap. The consequences of what may/will happen if Mango get pregnant aren't worth thinking about.

I think the cats were done at 5 months old, and I was petrified Molly might become pregnant by her brother I'm pretty sure there's no science behind waiting to get them neutered, same as there's nothing behind letting bitches have one litter first.

I think @tek-monkey means getting someone else to take him on the day of the snip. So they get blamed.

I know a dog who would kill me, because she doesn't trust me from a single innocent incident many years ago. She saw me, alone, in her new house (through the window), whilst the new occupants were not there. This was defined to be unacceptable behaviour and I have never been forgiven for it.

I only see her about once a year, and they don't even live in that house now, but I am persona non grata.

Have a word with the training place you go to. They will have a few tricks to try before you need to do anything drastic.

That picture of Mango on the beach with the long gangly legs and the mountain in the background is a cracker. Is that Cader Idris ? ;)

Yes, every single dog owner thinks that their own dog is a stunning dog, every dog owner thinks their dog is the best dog in the world.
Yours are both beautiful though.
Oh no, I definitely meant get someone else to take him to the vets! !

As @Lucy says, taking your dog to be “done” is just something that you do as a responsible dog owner.

Owning a dog (or any pet) comes with adult responsibilities.

You shouldn’t really buy a dog but then expect someone else to take it to the vet for you to be done. It’s about stepping up and doing the right thing.
I’ve edited this because it sounds harsh, and I didn’t mean it to, and you were probably joking about someone else taking him anyway!

Yes, I was joking :)
I'll be the one doing it, and while he'll probably not be too happy with me for a bit he'll get over it. He is the best dog in the world after all ;)

You have no idea how many times I tried to take that shot, only for her to run off just as I was getting focus! Standing against sand fine, the sea behind her maybe, but she seemed to decide that every time I knelt down to get a shot with Cadair in it was time to chase Ollie!

I've had dealings with that mountain. 11 years ago on the way down I blew out my left knee (old bike injury kicking in.) I owe it one, and I will have my revenge. :P

Was my first mountain, didn't realise til later that if you approach from the north it's only half the climb!

In other news Ollie is booked in for Tuesday, to come home slightly lighter and a bit annoyed I suspect. Talked to Nick at Park House, he said they prefer to wait but with Mango's issues and his aggression it's OK to do it now. Part of me isn't happy about it, but I think it's a man thing!
