Getting back to the original, ahem, topic - as much as i like rainbows, i cannot claim to like them as much as this guy.

Though i think it's fair to say i have a better understanding of them.

Apologies again for it not being now exactly.

Over the next few days it's being reported that tis a good time for spotting noctilucent clouds.

Never having knowingly seen them before they look like

this, and are visible between ~11pm and ~4am looking northwards.

Typically our more common clouds are out in force and will, of course, obscure them - but if you do see them, give us a shout please and i will do the same. They look rather nice in photos and i suspect they will look even nicer in the raw.

Just watched an Iridium flare to the west, unfortunately cloud covered it most of the time, but I did get this interesting shot on my camera of it passing through the clouds.

Anyone care to hazzard a guess what's going on here as it wasn't visible in the clouds with the naked eye.
