We used to put our dogs tablets in cheese , she wasn't so clever at seperating the tablets out of that. If we put them in ham or chicken she would eat the meat and spit the tablet out after, with a look as though to say " Have another try, I could do with some more ham.."

Glad she has been signed off @littleme . Maybe she might not lick her sore so much now that she is out of the cage.

BUT you can't afford to be blase, you need to have other tricks up your sleeve for the rest of the tablets so remember the fromage frais trick ... our little prince survived on it. They are worth trying anything!

I was told by my vet to open the jaws, drop in the tablet , tilt the head back and rub the underneath of the jaw and neck.
It worked for my cat .

:) I will, I know she likes yogurt as she had a bit of a wind problem a few years ago & the internet said yogurt would do the trick....& it did!

I could never get my dogs mouth open to get them in, she'd clamp it shut . Even if we squeezed a tablet through the slightest gap she'd manage to stop it going down no matter how long we kept the jaws shut and spit it out again as soon as we let go . Cost a fortune in cheese as well as vets bills  (Even the vet failed first time whilst showing us how easy that method was. He opened her mouth..."look gone"She waited until we'd lifted her down onto the floor then spat it out again  )

They all have an innate superiority not to be compared with ... Love them or hate them! I love them. They have added so much to my life, I could never be withouth them.

Cats generally can't digest lactose very well so be careful using cheese and any other dairy products to administer medications. You might find they eat it but are then sick later. Both our cats love all things dairy (cheese and ice cream especially!) but we've had to stop giving it to them as it just makes them ill

I know and I administer it carefully but, to be honest, none of my cats have ever had any ill effects from it.
