Wanted manure / compost

Hi all,
I have searched for this and threads about this sort of this are very old. I can't understand why no-one wants to talk about poo!
I'm after quantities of manure or compost, as cost effectively as possible. I know that sometimes horse keepers have an excess and are glad for someone to come and remove it. Or if someone has an old compost pile they want rid of?
If anyone knows of a stables that sell muck or anything simmilar id be glad to hear from you.
many thanks.

Take the A518 out of Stafford towards Newport. On the right hand side, after you've gone over the hill past the Derrington turnoff, there's a cattery that almost always has bags of manure (not feline, apparently) sitting outside in the layby. Failing that, on the far side of Gnosall and still on the A518, look out for the bus stop layby on the right. Shortly after that, and possibly the last house on that side of the road before leaving the village, there's a place that invariably has bags stacked outside the gate. Honesty box in both cases. Going rate £1 per bag.

The best I've found for my allotment is from the following lad. Delivered in a rather large tractor trailor. Think it was £40 a load last time, but it's a very big load :)

Bit hard to get hold of if I remember rightly, but you can go up to his farm (follow signs for Hay etc on A34 through Whitgreave) and have a chat with him any time. i get my rabbits' hay from there and it's really good quality.

I have horse muck (well donkey and horse but its the same) you can have for free if you collect. Its in a tractor type trailer but it would be easy enough to back a trailer up to it and shovel it on. Its in Stafford.

I have seen a ;post long ago somewhere that warns about using horse manure if horses are on certain medication, Worth looking at perhaps.
