I got my best chat up line from Terry Collier in 'The Likely Lads'

'Hello Gorgeous ... how would you like to do my washing for three weeks.' For some inexplicable reason it's never worked !!!

Or - "Do you want me to drive you home?"

"Oh, have you got a car?"

"No, but I've got a big whip."

Horses for courses I suppose. My ideal holiday of seclusion from everything unless I choose to travel to civilisation won't be everybody's cup of tea I don't suppose.
That's the other side of my coin. House on the carrier, bedroom in the left pannier, wardrobe in the right and kitchen in the tank bag. Self contained freedom to make choices 'on the hoof' as it were.

Here's a ship that will live in infamy for some period of history. The Torrey Canyon, at 120,000 tons deadweight (cargo) she was a super tanker of her day. She started life at half that size, but was lengthened in order carry more cargo. She struck a rock between the Cornish mainland and the Isles of Scilly in April 1967 which led to one of the largest oil spills in the UK.
The caption on this pix shows it was dated about 2 weeks before she was wrecked. As you can see she is fully loaded.

The aerial "attacks" on it, attempting to set fire to the cargo, were spectacularly, and embarrassingly, unsuccessful, especially considering that it was stationary and not firing back.

There is still a quarry full of Torrey Canyon oil on Guernsey - not often mentioned in the tourist brochures.

Battle cruiser HMS Hood looking very clean in Malta in 1938, although she was getting on a bit at that time. She met her nemesis going up against the Bismarck with the loss of 1415 crew and only 3 survivors.

I just saw a picture of the Norwegian Prima - I wasn't sure that it wasn't a Photoshop image, but it appears that it is a real thing.

My idea of hell.
Yup, same. But the carers idea of heaven.

I can't think of anything worse than being stuck on a boat with the same people/resturants/bars/entertainment, and the sea 🤮🤮🤮🤢🤢🤢....even the all inclusive on the Cuban island we stayed at that we wernt allowed to leave wasn't that bad......
