I really hate to argue with you but...........

Climax Blues Band (originally known as The Climax Chicago Blues Band) is a British blues rock band. The band was formed in Stafford, England, in 1967 by vocalist and harmonica player Colin Cooper (1939–2008), guitarist and vocalist Pete Haycock (1951–2013), guitarist Derek Holt (b. 1949), bassist and keyboardist Richard Jones (b. 1949), drummer George Newsome (b. 1947), and keyboardist Arthur Wood (1929–2005)
Definitely Stafford.

I remember watching them practicing (well mostly listen outside) in a shed like building near to this house /www.search.staffspasttrack.org.uk/Details.aspx?&ResourceID=25249&PageIndex=2&SearchType=2&ThemeID=414

( must have been in area around about where Winchester Court apartments are nowadays)

where we used to go and play inside by climbing through a gap in the boarded up windows.

That must have been about the late 60's.

Derek lived on Radford Rise, before he moved to Spain a few years ago. I delivered a few concert tickets to him. It was for Jan Akkerman at the Robin2. I bought a CD from the library and, some years later, noticed that Derek was credited on it. I got him to sign it for me in the Grapes one night - "In case you get hit by a bus and I can fling it on eBay straight away".

His house was called Holty Towers.
