Middle Of Nowhere Festival 2013

Hey, new poster here so hopefully I'm not breaking too many rules by posting in here, and I don't end up annoying the community in here...

Anyway, me and a couple friends are looking at this festival as a final thing to do before Uni or we move away, and this year looks really good, some great tribute bands there, and it looks like it could be a great place o just relax once exams are over.

Which brings me to my query, which I should clarify beforehand is just a query, and in no way is to say that we do this or intend to do this... I just wanted to know how lenient this festival is, and is it friendly/safe to smoke some 'green' there?... Now we're not the kind who get crazily drunk and cause nuance for other festival goers, we're just interested in chilling to music and smoking some something something. If its a no that's fine by us, we'd just be happy to go to a festival and enjoy the atmosphere, this is just something we wanted to find out.

Anyway, sorry for rambling and hope everyone who goes has a good time! :)

The official line will be no, its illegal. That never stops people at the Stafford Castle music thingy though, so who knows! Where is it held this year?

Watch out for the Fire Brigade turning up at the first sign of smoke, LDF have had a couple of big fires (unintended )at events there. One was a bonfire night display when a rocket went in the wrong direction and landed in a hay barn.

I've heard on the grapevine that day tickets for this year's MoN Festival have been halved in price....can anyone confirm or deny this? I'm going for the whole weekend but am certainly not gonna pay full price now if I can pay half the day before!

Tickets for the festival are now available on a 2-f0r-1 jobber. Give Tim a call on 07930 501579 if interested.

Can you take your own alcohol? Never been before.

Hmm...good question. When we went last year we were there for the whole weekend, so we had our own beers in the camping field but weren't allowed to take any booze into the music bit. The bar was rather reasonably priced, as I recall.

This year we've got friends who are there all weekend, so the plan is to take beers to drink with them in the camping field and buy drinks from the bar as well. I'm not sure how they regulate who goes in the camping field, as last year they were only checking you had a wristband to get into the music bit...not the other way round!

In summary: no idea!

Right...I just spoke to one of the organisers and she said they're quite casual about letting people into the camping field in the day...BUT...I'm still not sure whether they'll allow day ticket peeps to take their own alcohol into the camping field. At worst you'll have to get someone with a camping ticket to take your booze into the camping field for you. Easily done.

I've seen The Dirty Cheats when they supported The Lines a year or 2 ago and they were really good. They were also on at Live @ The Castle this year but I only saw 5 mins of their set. Was a good 5 mins.

The Taskers played here last year in the acoustic tent. We were all quite drunk by then but I'm sure it would have been great anyway.
