Minor shunt, Cresswell, Fri 3rd October 2014

Three car shunt about a quarter mile the Eccy side of Cresswell this morning causing tailbacks almost to Great Bridgford, doesn't look like anyone injured but causing short term delays.
Direct cause, numptys driving too close to the car in front with brains switched off. Indirect cause the three tonne lorry that makes regular bulk deliveries at least once, often twice a week to a house in Cresswell blocking one lane and and causing tailbacks along the Eccy road towards Great Bridgford because the driver is too idle to back onto the drive of the house he's delivering to.
Perhaps the local traffic monitoring team (the volunteer speed gun folks) could think outside of the box and look at other potential hazards in their locale in addition to speeding traffic.

I drove by there at about 8:40, (unless it was another accident) there were two cars still there with airbags gone off the whole front end of one car looked smashed in and a write off, the other one didn't look too roadworthy either. There were two ambulances and police directing traffic.
I Hope everyone is OK.
That road is a nightmare as people don't want to slow down and keep to the limit when they get to the residential areas, it's horrible if you have an aggressive driver behind you.

Why would they try and stop a road safety hazard and onyl dish out a single ticket when they can sit on a completely safe road with very rare accidents and rake in thousands in fines?

I go to a place on the main road in Cresswell about twice a week - exiting their drive is like coming out of the wrong end of the pit lane at Monza.
