On Friday I heard two people discussing Monkeypox when a news report showed a picture of infected countries and the woman said "Yes I blame China".

When her friend pointed out that China wasn't highlighted on the map her response was "Yeh but they started it".

I don't want to alarm anybody ..... but I think I saw a Zombie Monkey on my way home from the pub last night. Fortunately it got chased off by a Zombie Triceratops. :pint::eek:

To get Monkeypox you need to be getting some.

And/or from elsewhere.

I tick neither of those boxes.

It's a 'win' of sorts, but i kinda wish i was 'at risk'.

I'm asexual so I'm practically immune! ;)

In all seriousness though, I have heard there are other environments of skin-to-skin contact and an exchanging of bodily fluids where transmission can occur such as gigs (hey, I've been to some exciting gigs, OK!).

It will be interesting to see if there does turn out to be any residual cover from the smallpox vaccinations that some of the more venerable people will have had.

I can't remember when my last one was - early 1970s, I expect.

If you have any doubts as to the structural integrity of any sanity that you may have remaining, then I suggest that you don't read the comments under any WHO post about monkeypox that you might see on Facebook.

I saw a thread on Twitter the other day that I can't find again to post now (I scrolled past it pretty fast!) from a guy who has monkeypox currently and is in hospital with multiple horrible, black lesions all over his face. The disfiguring element of this disease is so disconcerting.
