More steam anyone? Trains through Stafford.

I think the Flying Scotsman is coming through Stafford tomorrow.

It seems to be making an extended stop at Stafford in both directions (10:19 to 10:58 southbound and 19:05 to 19:35 northbound). Is it taking on water at Stafford?

This suggests the water stop is at Crewe.

Railcam have a camera at Crewe, well they have a few, but this 1 is free to watch. There's a good chance that you will be able to see the Flying Scotsman on it.

Not steam related as such but called into a real ale pub in Derby before going for a meal and it's full of old railway stuff including an old Red Star parcels sign

The Fying Scotsman should be passing through Stafford today at 10:28 on its way to Chester, returning at 17:09. Not stopping either time.
Saw it go through Creswell. It seemed to be in very light steam (I suspect the diesel loco at the back was doing a lot of the work), possibly because of the risk of lineside fires. I went up to Carlisle last month and my train got halted because of a big lineside fire; funnily enough a steam loco had gone through less than half an hour before my train.
