New series has started - now with added Stafford bloke. :)

(I don't think he appears until the third in the series - may be wrong)

was just looking through wikipedia to find out who the guy is in mrs browns boys and found this on the wiki page

"For a long time he had a ponytail, until it was removed by Leeds Utd and Ireland footballer Gary Kelly with a pen-knife in 1994 at the USA world cup. The ponytail was subsequently auctioned for US charity, "Give Kids The World" and was sold for $10,000."

does anyone know if this is true or is it one of those made up wikipedia facts?

Far as I know,it is true,i'm sure i've seen a clip somewhere of him telling this story. Well the bit about the pony tail, not the amount involved.

Steve Edge - you might remember him from Phoenix Nights or The Cup - you'd probably recognise his face.

Surely the only pony tail with 1994 World Cup connections that someone may conceivably have spent $10,0000 on belonged to Roberto Baggio.

On Christmas Eve, I was sitting in a kitchen in the darkest part of the Free State, with a group that contained two secondary school teachers in their 50s and three of their pupils, aged 13 to 17. One of the teachers suddenly noticed some dark brown, fibrous material stuck to the sole of her shoe - 'Oh, for f*cks sake! Is that Christmas cake or dog-sh*t?', she asked the assembled crowd.

I looked round for the cameras..
